“This was a fun day. I actually filmed this a couple of weeks ago, but after making that 45 minute blade cup video, I wanted to take a break. Really, I wanted to take a break and not even film this weekend… Buuuut, my friend Freddy White was in town visiting for the week so I forced myself to push past the laziness and have productive fun for the weekend. The first spot was surprisingly slick. I can’t believe all of my younger years of skating were spent not knowing what a rub brick was. It really does change everything. Every potentially lame spot can be transformed into a premium ledge if you spend just a little time bricking/lacquering it. I wish someone would have told me that when I was younger. So if you’re reading this right now and thinking to yourself “I’ve never rub bricked a ledge,” let this be the motivation to go buy one and give it a shot. The second spot in this one was an abandoned pool. My crew barely skates ramps, so we were already setup for failure at this spot, haha. It was fun regardless. Just surviving carving around the thing was a trick. I know when you see it on film it looks super chill and built like a skatepark but… It wasn’t. The last spot a lot of tricks went down, but between me not being able to film Michael all day (thanks Michael) and trying to not get in the way of Ant filming for his video, I didn’t film that much. Overall, productive day. Some days, just leaving the house can feel productive.
